If you missed Elena’s short interview with Raquel Barreira on Radio Latina Luxembourg last Tuesday, well you can relisten to it right here on our soundcloud profile. Elena is talking about her musical beginnings and our projects for 2018.
Those who came to our concert last Saturday at “Little Woodstock Café” already got the news: We have to announce a personnel change. Ben, our drummer, has decided to leave the band and last Saturday was his last concert with Strysles. And we did have a lot of fun. Yeah! Thank you Ben for everything. Keep rocking man! :-) \m/
So let’s introduce to you our new man on the drums: Mr. Steve Krippler. I’m sure he is no stranger to most of you out there. Steve has been playing drums since he was 9 years old and has been studying drums at the Conservatory of Music in Luxembourg City. In 2010 he won the contest “De beschten Drummer vu Lëtzebuerg”. (Still the best as this contest has never been repeated ;) )
And now welcome to the universe of Strysles. Steve’s first complete gig with us will be already this Friday at Musicfest, Victor Hugo Hall, a special Unplugged Session. Next year will be a busy Strysles year. *Exciting*
We have been nominated for the Video Clip Awards Luxembourg with our self-made “My Urban Piano” Video.
For the fifth time, Rockhal and its Rocklab organize the “Video Clip Awards Luxembourg” (VCAs), to honour the finest Luxembourgish video clips. These awards focus on the promotion and dissemination of the clips and the support of Luxembourgish musicians and filmmakers who produce them.
The prizes will be awarded during the Sonic Visions Music Conference on November 18th.
You just need to send an SMS with VCA 001 (001 in this case for Strysles) to 62468 (fees: 50 cents / SMS, works only with mobile numbers from Luxembourg). You can vote till November 13th, 2017 at 23:59.
Thank you very much everybody who’s supporting us.
One year ago, we visited Bob and Raoul at their show on Friday evening and now it was time again to meet these funny guys to present our new single “Break the Silence”.
Those who missed it can of course listen to the replay, just click here (minus our song, > © :))
Thank you RTL and see you soon \m/
Last week, we have been invited for a little chat at Marlène’s show “Dezibel” on Eldoradio. Thank you very much for your warm welcome :) We talked a bit about what happened the last months and of course we presented our new single “Break the Silence“. If you missed our interview, you can listen to the whole show here (our interview at around min. 15) or later at the “Dezibel” Podcast. Just subscribe to the Podcast, because such a show with music from Luxembourg needs some support, go go \m/
A few weeks ago, we announced some concert-dates. There will be 2 or 3 (or more) to come. On 22nd April, we will play our first gig for 2017 and – we will also release our new single called “Break the Silence”. It will be available digitally worldwide from 23rd April 2017. Very exciting. 3 more weeks to go :-) Meanwhile, have a look at our video-teaser:
Last weekend, we’ve hit the studio again to record a new song for you. To be released very soon …. :-) What we can already reveal is, that the song will be called “Break the Silence”. Stay tuned for more. Here are some impressions from last Saturday:
After Dan left the band, we had to find a replacement to hold the second six string in the band. We were looking for someone who would be as devoted to our music as we are and we had quite some candidates showing up at our castings. Finally we decided to ask Marc to join the “Strysles” adventure.
He has been around in the Luxembourgish music scene for a while now; as co-founding member of the 80s Pop-Rock band “Footsteps” he recorded two EPs including the hit single “Luxembourg I’m Coming Back“. Another well-known ensemble he played with was the Jazz Big Band “Opus 78” that permitted him to enlarge his musical skills beyond Rock’n’Roll. After a period of silence he appeared again some years ago as a member of the local cover band “Wazabi and Me” that disbanded unfortunately after 3 years.
Now he is ready to jump onto the “Strysles” train and rock the Grand Duchy again. We are looking forward to the next concert season in 2017, first gigs are already in the making.
Rock on \m/
Strysles is currently looking for a new guitar player as Dan has left the band unfortunately.
So if you:
Wow, we had a fantastic EP release party on 23rd April. Thank you everyone for celebrating this exciting moment with us :-) We are currently checking out the recordings and video from that evening so that we can publish some excerpts in the near future. Ah yeah – and now we can also reveal who our surprise guest was, tadaaaaa: Mr. Cyberpiper!! Haha, this was so awesome! \m/
As you can imagine, we’re more than happy to finally be on stage and play music after nearly a year of preparations in the rehearsal room. So here are our next concert dates. Perhaps we will add one or two more, we’ll see.

17 June 2016: Fête de la Musique / Esch-sur-Alzette
18 June 2016: Fête de la Musique / Dudelange
